Reading at home to an adult is key for children of all ages.
Home Learning Information
Home learning tasks are set each Wednesday and are checked in class on the following Tuesday. In addition to weekly reading at home, we use the following online platforms to set spelling and maths home learning tasks. You will find your children’s login details on the inside of their Home Reading Record.
Weekly spellings are set by the teacher based on the current spelling patterns being taught in class each week. | ![]() |
|
Weekly times tables are set which are based on each child’s current times table level. The time spent on ‘studio’ contributes to your child’s ‘Rock Status’. | ![]() |
|
The program focuses on basic number skills and addition / subtraction rapid recall. There are no set tasks but a weekly time expectation is set by the teacher. | ![]() |
|
Sumdog uses maths games which include problem solving and all four operations. The games automatically adjust to each child’s level, providing personalised learning. | ![]() | https://play.sumdog.com/ |
The home learning platforms and expectations vary, depending on year group. Please see the attached sheet for an outline of your child’s home learning expectations and a tick grid to support you in keeping track of their weekly tasks. A paper copy of the homework log will also be given to each child to take home.
If you have any problems with accessing the home learning, please contact your class teacher who will be able to assist you.
