Through Class Council all pupils have the opportunity to raise issues, share ideas and take part in discussions that involve all of their classmates in reaching a democratic solution.  Wider issues that arise at Class Council are discussed further at School Council, This ensures that as many pupil voices as possible are heard.  Pupils at Springfield know that this is their school and their thoughts and ideas matter.

School Council

Through Class Council all pupils have the opportunity to raise issues, share ideas and take part in discussions that involve all of their classmates in reaching a democratic solution.  Wider issues that arise at Class Council are discussed further at School Council, This ensures that as many pupil voices as possible are heard.  Pupils at Springfield know that this is their school and their thoughts and ideas matter. 

Our School Councillors:

  • Are elected in each class
  • Help to make decisions about how to improve our school
  • Hold regular Class Council meetings
  • Attend School Council meetings and share items in the minutes book
  • Hold meetings with senior members of staff when necessary

Since January the School Council have been busy holding regular Class Council meetings and then feeding back to the School Council.

Two School Council representatives were chosen to meet with Mrs Pick and Mr Saward to discuss some of the points raised and as a result, new hand driers for the junior toilets were ordered and fitted and new whiteboard pens were ordered and distributed to every class.

The School Council are also looking into ways to utilise the outdoor play equipment that we have in order to make lunchtimes more fun so watch this space!
